Nude Bathing Frolics For Society Folk
Replacing Night Clubs Beach motor parties are now becoming popular in place of night clubs, says the “Sunday Dispatch” of London. Saloon cars draw up on the esplanade at Southend, and crowds of youths and girls, clad for the water, step out and indulge in swimming in the moonlight, and dancing, accompanied by ukuleles. They return to the cars for sandwiches and champagne. Residents complain of the noise of popping corks. At Cannes, nude bathing parties at a local villa, equipped with a bathing pool, are creating a furore. Bathers of both sexes, some of whom are well known in London society, participate, maintaining that the practice is more beneficial to the health than costumed bathing. One guest says that nobody takes embarrassing notice of anyone else.
