FRUITGROWING ABANDONED TREES TO BE CUT DOWN (United P.A. — By Telegraph — Copyright) Reed.' 11 a.m. SYDNEY, To-day. A prominent orchardist in the Lithgow district has decided to cut down 7,000 young apple trees which are just bearing, owing to the high cost of labour-, and the low market returns.
He declares that fruitgrowing is a losing game. He will devote his land to a more profitable purpose.
