Mr. W. H. Tripe arrived from Wellington by the Limited this morning. Mr. j. J. Dougall, of Christchurch, left to-day by the Ulimaroa. for Sydney. The Rev. Jasper Calder returned by the Limited this morning from a visit to Wellington. Mr. w. It Cook was a passenger from Wellington this morning by the Limited. Mr. W. S. McKinley arrived in Auckland this morning by the first express from the South. Sir Joseph Kinsey, of Christchurch is visiting Auckland. He is staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr. C. E. MacCormick, judge of the Native Land Court, left last evening by train for Wellington. Dr. P. McCallum, professor of pathology at the University of Melbourne, left for Sydney, with Mrs. McCallum, by the Ulimaroa to-day. Sir Frederic Lang, M.L.C., the Hon. F. Mander. M.L.C., and the Hon. W. Stewart, M.L.C.. arrived from Wellington this morning by the Limited. Sir Joseph Ward was a passenger for Auckland by the Aorangi from Suva last evening, says a Press Association cable. Major Clive Joskie and his bride also left for Sydney on their honeymoon.

Mr. Robert Logan lias resigned the chairmanship of the National Mortgage Agency of New Zealand. Viscount Hampden. K.C.8., C.M.G., who succeeds him. will shortly visit New Zealand on the. company's business.— A.P.A.

Mr. W. E. Bush, city engineer, was granted permission by the City Council last evening, to go to Australia in October, for a pei-iod of about six weeks.
