PROGRESS OF ASSOCIATION The quarterly dinner of the New Zealand Association of Radio Transmitters held last evening was marked by a record meeting of “Hams,” and was characteristic of the increasing interest being shown in amateur radio. The chairman, Mr. W. J. Sexton, outlined the remarkable progress of the association during the past three months. Referring to the new regulations coming into force next year, the chairman said that the amateur radio transmiters in New Zealand would have much greater scope for their activities than in the past, especially in connection with message handling. Mr. Sexton mentioned the cordial relations existing between the Post and Telegraph Department and the association. Proposing the toast of “Kindred Clubs,’’ Mr. T. R. Clarkson (vice-pre-sident), referred to the many associations and leagues who, 1 ike the N.Z.A.R.T., were organising the amateurs in other countries, notable among these being the A-R.L. of America. Mr. R. J. Orbell, president, wa3 welcomed, the chairman expressing the hope that Mr. Orbell would settle in Auckland. Musical and elocutionary numbers were contributed by Messrs. Roberts Bros., orchestra, H. B. Arthur, A. C. Gordon, F. Mickleborough, C. Walker. E. Whiteley and the N.Z.A.R.T. Jazz Band.
