NOTABLE BOOKING RECORD
AT ST. JAMES THEATRE . -T Yesterday, when the grand circle booking for the first three grand operas 1 was opened, a huge crowd was awaiting the unprecedented event of opera j booked in comfort for three shillings. The young lady sellers were kept busy and experienced the hardest three hours of their lives. At the end of those three hours, however, they had sold all the grand circle tickets for "II Trovatore.” “La Tvaviata,” and “Rigoletto”—a total of more than 2,500 sea.ts. This is an Auckland record, and shows clearly that this city will not be behind the other great cities of the Dominion in its appreciation of the grand opera provided by the Fuller-Gonsalez Company. On Monday next the grand circle ; booking will open for “Lucia di Lammermoor,” “Faust,” and Nbrma.'’ This arrangements should be a great boon to opera-goers and music-lovers, and will be duly appreciated by the public, which is beginning to realise that the Fuller management is showing great consideration.
