FIRE AT OTAHUHU

BLOCK OF STABLES BURNED (From Our Own Correspondent.) OTAHUHU, To-day. Fire destroyed a block of disused stables, owned by Mr. W. E. Lippiatt, Lippiatt Road, Otahuhu, at about 9.30 last evening. The fire brigade answered the call, but when it arrived the fire had a good hold, and it confined its activities to saving an unoccupied house on the same section. They effected a good save considering the high wind that was raging at the time. It is estimated that about £250 worth of damage was done.
