KNOCKED DOWN BY VAN DRIVER NOT TO BLAME “Accidental d€‘ath” was the verdict returned by the coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt. S.M., at an inquest held into the death of John Smith, aged 33, who was fatally injured on the evening of September 1 through being knocked otf his cycle in Warnock Road, Grey Lynn, by a motor-van. The driver of the van, Benjamin H. T. Crossley, said he was proceeding along Warnock Road at a speed of between 12 and 14 miles an hour. The visibility was exceedingly bad, and he only became aware of the presence of the cyclist an instant before the collision. The coroner found that no blame was attachable To anyone.
