EARLY DAFFODIL DISPLAY The Auckland Horticultural Society staged a display of early daffodils at the Centreway Restaurant last evening, when a variety of narcissi grown by Messrs. J. H. BraithWaite, W. J. Wernham, R. Hart, H. A. Wilcox, H. Marriage and H. G. Edmonds were exhibited A series of water-colours, painted by Miss I. M. Bull, depicting seedlings raised by Mr. R. Goodson, of Hawera, occasioned much interest. The chairman. Mr. Wernham, said that, considering the unfavourable weather of the past few -weeks the standard of the blooms exhibited was very fine. An interesting address on “The Cultivation of Daffodils” was given by Mir. R. J. Thornton and Mr. K. R. W. Thomas, who recently returned from a visit to England and Scotland, gave an instructive address on new varieties which were being cultivated there.
