RUSH FROM BURNING CAR (Special to THE SUN) TAIHAPE. Thursday. When their ear caught fire near Pungataua Junction, about 12 miles from Tailiape, Mr. R. Ormond and a youth, Roth well, had- to make a hurried escape. A short circuit in the battery is. believed to have been the cause of the fire. The car, which was destroyed, cost £675 when new, and it was insured for £2OO. It .had been used very little. Mr. Ormond was drying the car, which belonged to him.
