EGG PRICES DROP
HEAVY SUPPLIES ON HAND MERCHANTS AWAIT EXPORT SEASON Increasing: supplies of eggs coming on to the Auckland, markets ‘ have caused a drop in prices and, at present, there is no outlet for quick disposal. Merchants are awaiting the opening of the export season and have stocks on hand ready for overseas buyers. Suitable shipping arrangements have to be completed and freight space decided on before any quantities can be sent from New Zealand. One firm ha.s been inquiring about the possibilities of exporting to Eastern Canada, where there are prospects of an excellent market for New Zealand eggs.
