STEAMER KAURI SOLD

It is understood that buyers from China have purchased the Union Steam Ship Company’s steamer Kauri, which has . been lying idle at Lyttelton for some months. The Kauri, which was original!y called the Harmony, is of 2,833 tons, and was- built by Messrs. Furness, Withy and Company, West Hartlepool, in 1905. She was bought in England by the Union Company fn 1912 and renamed.

The Kauri was engaged in the intercolonial coal and timber trade for several years. She is well known on the coast.
