DEBTOR’S DEATH IN PRISON
(Special to THE SUN) CHRISTCHURCH. Thursday. After being' admitted to Taparua Prison on Tuesday, Thomas Gill, aged about 45, of Coalgate, died in the afternoon. Gill was imprisoned for debt. He was admitted about noon. He comtrouble with his legs and was permitted to rest, but he collapsed and died at 2 p.m. An inquest was opened and adjourned pending a post-mortem examination.
