POOR BOGEY!
HAMILTON SENSATIONS RECORD SCORING Hamilton provided two sensations during the week-end. One was a new ladies’ record. Miss M. Wilkinson scored at 78, breaking 80 for the first time it has been broken by a lady player. The previous record was 80, on a somewhat shorter course, and was made in 1919 by Mrs. J. C. Templar, then Miss N. Wright, of Christchurch. Miss Wilkinson’s card read: Out: 2,5,4. 4,4,4, 6,4.5, —38 In: 4,4,4, 5,3,5, 5,6,4, 40 Macßeth had a sensational finish to his match in the championships with Bellingham. The two were all square at the 15th. From a pulled tee shot Macßeth reached the green, 410 yards, in two and holed his putt for a three. He then got a 4 at the 407 yard 17th, and won the match there. Not satisfied with this he went to the 18th and holed his second. The 18th is 438 yards. Bogey for each of the three holes is 5, and his score was therefore six under bogey for them —also six under par figures.
