AUSTRALIAN NAVY CALLS ON WASHINGTON

OFFICERS ENTERTAINED CRUISER AT ANNAPOLIS (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 2.5 p.m. ANNAPOLIS, Wed. Rear-Admiral G. F. Hyde and a group of officers from H.M.A.S. Australia, made official calls at Washington to-day, and were the guests of Assistant-Secretary of the Navy Robinson at luncheon. Other groups of officers also visited Washington, and several hundred of the men toured the capital in charabancs.

Rear-Admiral Robinston, Superintendent of the U.S. Naval Academy, gave a dinner in Admiral Hyde’s honour this evening. There were also a number of other dinners at which the visiting Australian officers were tile guests. Later there was a dance given by the local Officers’ Club.
