MEETING OF EXECUTIVE
THEFT OF PLAYERS’ CLOTHING At a, meeting- of the Auckland Rugby League held last evening, Mr. G. Rhodes presiding, complaints were received from clubs and the Referees’ Association concerning the theft of clothing from the Domain last Saturday. It was reported that no less than six players had suffered considerable loss. The chairman said that a deputation from other sports bodies \>ould meet the City Council next Tuesday, when the matter would be discussed. The secretary reported that arrangements were in hand for the visit of the Otago representative team, which would play Auckland on September 15. The New Zealand Rugby League advised that the appeal of the Richmond Club against the Auckland League in respect to the rulings given by a referee in a game against Ponsonby had been dismissed. The Parnell senior team was granted permission to travel to Hamilton on September 15. The Waiuta Club, Westport, advised that its junior team would be unable to visit Auckland this season. The formation of a Line Umpires’ Association, in conjunction with the Referees’ Association, was referred to all clubs for assistance and support.
It was decided to play a game between Hikurangi and Ponsonby on Saturday, as a curtain-raiser to the senior match.
