ST. JAMES THEATRE
LEAGUE OF NOTIONS REVUE The League of Notions Revue Company, headed by Mike Connors and Queenie Paul, continue to draw large houses at St. James. Last evening this merry band of performers kept the audience in a state of merriment throughout the show, which is made up of lively and sparkling farce and pretty music and ballets. Opening with a chorus, “A Smile to Every Shadow,” the revue soon gets into its stride, and its ever-changing scenes and sketches make it pass all too quickly. Syd. Beck and Ernie Paulasto, the two comedians, keep the house rocking with hteir bright humour. Fred Paulsto, the wireless fiend, reduces the audience to a state of helplessness when he tunes into three stations. Queenie Paul, in a little bedroom scene, causes a lot of spontaneous laughter. Mike Connor, the band, and the Exquisite Six make a big hit in “My Cutie’s Due.” The biggest success of the night’s performance is undoubtedly “Meadow Lark,” which is sung by Queenie Paul and Mike Connors, with Linn Smith at the piano. Recalls -were numerous, and they sang the favourites, “Breeze” and “Bridget O’Flynn,” The ballets 'were all well dressed, and their dancing left nothing to desire. Linn Smith and his band played with their usual dash. The League of Notions Revue Company will continue its course again this evening.
