REAR RED REFLECTORS

It is not generally known that the authorities have set a standard with regard to reflectors for cars and motorcycles. The reflector must be seen at a distance of 150 ft., and at an angle of not less than 35 degrees either side of normal, and all motorists whose reflectors are defective in this respect are liable to prosecutions at any time now as the time of suspension has expired. Most car owners have refrained from buying the flat pancake reflector, as it was not considered satisfactory by the New Zealand Government, who have themselves just purchased the only available reflector called the Cairns. Large supplies have been purchased by local garages here, and the public can now change the flat ones and obtain the official reflector, samples of which have been left with the police. Only yesterday local motorists were fined 10s each. The Cairns Reflector can be obtained from all garages or from the London Motor School. Wellington, at 4s 6d each. Postage free. —6
