BAD CHARACTER GAOLED
SEAMAN’S FRAUD THAT FAILED Press Association WELLINGTON, To-day, Thomas Ridout, a seaman, was sentenced to six months’ gaol to-day tor attempting to impose on a former employee with the story that he required money on account of his wife’s illness. The accused had a long list, and was described as a man of bad character. H& was discharged from Mount Eden Gaol, only a few days before he attempted this fraud.
