N.Z. Breweries Improve
Taranaki Oils Weak
A DECIDED strengthening of the market for both New Zealand and Staples Breweries at the mid-day call was the outstanding feature of this morning’s business on ’Change. The market for all the better class, securities continues firm, with practically no noteworthy alteration in prices.
"Ranks continue to meet with a steady inquiry and a moderate turnover is recorded in the section. Sellers of New Zealand Insurances dropped to 44s at mid-day, finding buyers firm at 43s 6d. In timbers, buyers of Nationals moved up to 8s 6d. L&.vland O’Briens are sought at 33s Cd with no declared sellers. A sharp advance is recorded in the market for both New Zealand and staples Holders of the former now ask 50s. Taranaki Oils are weak, sellers at 9s supported by buyers at 7s.
Tonson Garlicks are easier, with ■Sellers at 12s 6d and buyers withdrawn. Taupiri Coals have weakened to see sales at 26s 9d. Business yesterday afternoon: —On ’Change: Taupiri Coal, 27s and 2fis 9d; Northern Steam, 14s 6d. Reported: Waihi Mining. 12s: Auckland Gas,' 23s 4d: Kaiapoi Woollens (paid), 13s 3d. Business at this morning’s early call. —On ’Change: Comrpercial Bank of Australia, 30s 9d. Reported: Taupiri Coal, 26s 9d: British Tobacco, 43s 6d. Business at mid-day.—Reported: Commercial Bank of Australia, 30s 9d: National Bank of Australasia (con.), £9 8s 9d; Waihi, Mining, 12s Id.
