NEWMARKET COUNCIL ARGUES OVER A MAP
QUESTION of ownership A map showing city tram-stops, which was forwarded to the Mayor of Newmarket, Mr. S. Donaldson, by the tramways manager, was the Point in dispute at the meeting of the Borough Council last evening. JT had come to his knowledge that a map addressed to the Mayor ♦u *^ ewmar ket had been received by the Mayor but had not been passed on to the councillors, said Mr. H. Cooper. He. with Mr. H. The Mayor: The map was sent at *ny request to me and is now at the shop. i take full responsibility for T he map was used by the Mayor as Propaganda against councillors outside Uio council, said Mr. Gregory. . The Mavor: The map was for my Private use. yir. Cooper: If it was for your Private use why did you not have it dc *dressed to your home? The Mayor: A lot of my correspondnee comes addressed to nie as Mayor th® council chambers. Mr. Gregory suggested that the • °or*er the council got down to busine ss the better it would be. The ordinary business was then dealt with.
