ADMISSION TO COLLEGE RULES FOR NEXT YEAR No applications from probationers outside Auckland for. admission to the Auckland Training College will be approved by the Education Department next year.
rpHE Auckland Education Board was advised to-day that approval was given for all probationers in the Auckland district, who were qualified under the regulations and reported upon favourably by the senior inspector, being admitted to the college next year. No candidates under divisions B or D would be admitted, hut applications under division C, approved by the senior inspector, would be considered. The department would approve of the principal selecting students whom he considered most suited for specialisation in any of the subjects named in the regulations, for third-year studentships. Third-year students should be selected by the principal and the selection should not arise in the first instance through applications from the students themselves. The board decided to ask the department to approve of class D, solecharge teachers.
