SECRETARIES MEET

PROGRESS OF N.Z. BRANCH OF INSTITUTE An increase of 44 has taken place in the membership of the New Zealand branch of the Australasian Institute of Secretaries during the past year. This was reported to a large attendance at the annual meeting in Auckland on Monday afternoon. The healthy state of the finances was referred to, and it was stated that the next biennial institute conference would be held in Auckland in 1929, when representatives from each State of Australia would he present. At a meeting of the newly-elected council, after the annual meeting, Mr. G. O’Halloran, public accountant, of Auckland, was elected president of the branch for the ensuing year, and Messrs. A. E. Bollard and J. A. Duncan were elected vice-presidents. The annual report of the institute shows the accumulated funds amount to about £2,245, and the present membership of the institute on June 30 last was 1,837, an increase of 22G.
