New and Younger Men Will Compose Next British Cabinet
(United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 11.52 a.m. LONDON, Tuesday. THE “Daily Express” states that since his return from Aix-les-Bains, where he stayed with the Baldwins, J. C. C. Davidson, M.P., presided at a meeting of the executive of the National Union of Conservative Associations. This, together with private conferences, show that the Prime Minister, Mr. Baldwin, has no intention of resigning, and is anxious to go to the country with the appearance of a united, harmonious Ministry. If he is returned, it is decided that there will be a complete overhaul of the Cabinet, and the inclusion of new and younger men. Sir Austen Chamberlain’s retirement from the Foreign Office is certain. He may be given a lighter office, if his health is restored, such as the Privy Seal. Lord Cushendun’s claims for the Foreign Office are apparent, but he will have to overcome a powerful opposition.
