WELLINGTON’S HEAVY RAIN
RECORD FALL FOR AUGUST 1 Press Association. WELLINGTON, Monday. An outstanding meteorological feature during August in Wellington was the very heavy rainfall, which was easily a record. At Kelburn 9.84 in. were registered, while at Karori reservoir the total was only a few points short of llin., being 10.92 in. Previous heavy August rainfalls at Karori were 9.58 in. in 1927, B.Boin. in 1924, and 8.38 in. in 1913.
