LYRIC
“GOOD TIME CHARLEY” “Good Time Charley,” a drama of an old time actor and' his dancing daughter* will be shown again this evening at the Lyric Theatre with Helene Costello in the leading role. Warner Oland and Clyde Cook are also featured. “Good Time Charley” is from the pen of Darryl Francis Zanuck and tells the serio-comic life drama of a small town song-and-dance man, his trusty pal, and his orphaned daughter, who grows up and triumphs on the stage while her father’s star is waning. The pal has kept secret from Charley the fact that the theatrical manager has been the cause of his wife’s early death, and Charley is an inmate of the actors’ home, when he learns the truth. “The Opening Night,” the second attraction, is a remarkable picture of a brave man whose nerve suddenly gave way and who suffered for it all his life. Claire Windsor makes a beautiful leading lady and John Bowers heads the supporting cast. M. Volkoff and Ivan Mosjoukine, respectively director and star of the Universal extravaganza, “The Prince of Adventurers,” have worked together for many years. In fact, it was in 1916 that Volkoff gave Mosjoukine his first film part in a production called “The House of Mystery.” .
