BASKETBALL

CHAMPIONSHIP WINNERS A match in each of the second and seventh grades brought the Auckland Basketball Association’s championships to an end on Saturday. In all other grades the championships were won outright in the first round. Time did not permit of playing a second round. On Saturday afternoon Victoria defeated Edendale in the second grade final by 11 points to S, and in the seventh grade final Manchester Costume Company defeated Interliouse Cerise by three points * nil. All other teams engaged in friendly games. The winners of the championships are as follow: Senior Grade. —University. Second Grade. —Victoria. Third Grade.—lnter-house Green. Fourth Grade.—Otahuhu. Fifth Grade.—Y.W.C.A. Sixth Grade. —Inter-house Red Seventh Grade.—Manchester Costume Company.
