ATHLETES AT HENDERSON ANNUAL SPORTS HELD A. BROWNE WINS STEEPLECHASE The annual sports meeting at the Henderson Athletic Club held on Saturday was favoured with the presence of some of Auckland’s prominent athletes.

The racing was of a good standard, while the programme was interesting throughout. The big event of the day, the steeplechase, was won by A. Browne. J. W. Savidan, the New Zealand cross-country champion, ran well into third place without being extended. The 75yds handicap provided a good race, inches only separating the placed men.
