“PRETTY RAD LIST”

GAOL FOR TWO WOMEN “I am sorry to say they have a pretty bad list,” said Sub-Inspector McCarthy, of two women, who were sentenced at the Police Court this morning to three months’ imprisonment, having pleaded guilty to consorting with thieves and persons of bad character.

Ettie O’Toole, aged 40, and ‘Winnie Patterson, aged 44, faced other charges of being found drunk and of being idle and disorderly in that they had insufficient visible means of support. On these charges they were convicted and discharged. “As soon as they come out of gaol they hang round the hotels,” concluded Mr. McCarthy.
