Obituary

MR. E. A. EYRE Mr. Egmont Annesley Eyre, of 10 Wanganui Avenue, Ponsonby, who died on Friday at the age of 51, spent his boyhood in Wanganui and In California returning to New Zealand at the age of 19. From 1912 to -1915 he was town clerk of Takapuna, but he then took up farming. He was a member of the Northcote Borough Council for a time, and in recent years was private secretary to the Hon. E. W. Alison. Mr. Eyre is survived by his wife and five daughters. The funeral ' took place on Saturday at Hillsborough Cemetery.

MRS. A. NEILSON The death occurred on Saturday of Mrs. A. Neilson, of Ngawa, Kaikohe, at the age of 74 years. She always enjoyed good health until recently. The late Mrs. Neilson was a daughter of Mr. A. Edmonds, of Kaikohe, and had resided in the district all her life. Her husband Mr. N. Neilson, of Ngawha, two daughters, and one son survive her.

MR. E. A. STEVENS The death occurred at Auckland Hospital on Friday of Mr. Edwin Alfred Stevens, formerly a well-known popular resident of Te Awamutu. He was 29 years of age and was engaged on the clerical staff of the Te Awamutu Hotel, and had taken a great interest in musical affairs. He afetrwards joined the Hamilton staff of the Bristol Piano Co., and was one of the official accompanists to the Hamilton Orphans’ Club.

MATRON K. L. BRAIDWOOD Matron K. L. Braidwood, of Grey Hospital, Greymouth, who had been seriously ill for the past two weeks, died yesterday afternoon. She was born in Echuca, Victoria, and was 37 years old. Deceased had been associated with Grey Hospital for over 15 years and was matron for about five years. Her record as a trainee rising to the position of matron in the same hospital is unique so far as the Dominion institutions are concerned.
