At Malmo, in Sweden, in a 400-rnetres free-style swimming race, Carlton defeated a local relay team of four men. doing the distance in 5m 27 3-10 s. while the Swedes took 5m 37 3-l Os. In the 100-metres backstroke the Swedish champion, Eskil Bundahl won in 76 2-10 s, Carlton taking 78 6-10 s. A team race of 233 metres was won by Boast, Charlton and Hay in 2m 35 9-10 - Billqvist.
