THANKS TO THE SUN
ARMY’S GREAT NIGHT i “Thanks to The Sun, i brother, we have had a great | night,” said a Salvation Army | officer last evening in bidding ) farewell to a pressman at the | conclusion of Commissioner | Hay’s address on the “Damning Sins of Auckland.” At half-past, eight, when proceedings commenced, the Army’s new hall was well packed. Hundreds were unable to gain admittance, and the assistance of several policemen had to be obtained before the doors could be closed. A number of those unable to gain admittance i voiced their displeasure by counting out the Army officers, but otherwise the crowd was quite orderly. Officers of the Army ex- i pressed great satisfaction at i the large attendances of the } public at the Sin Parade, and | later at the Congress Hall. !
