prisoner awaits trial in GAOL Ernest Edward Cox, aged 48, who w as remanded at the Police Court this morning on a charge of break--In9n 9 and entering will await his trial in gaol. Cox. who was charged with breakhig and entering a warehouse inDalby Street, Freeman’s Bay, and stealing brass fittings to the value of £34, was remanded until Thursday, He was a lso charged with assaulting John Lee. Watchman at the warehouse. Cox asked for bail, but was reminded by Sub-Inspector .McCarthy that he had been given a chance on Thursday When Mr. W. R. McKean. S.M., had ordered him to come up for sentence if called upon when he was convicted of being found on the enclosed premises °f the city markets. Cn this charge Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., sentenced him to one month’s imprisonment.
