AT HIS MAJESTY’S SHORTLY The Auckland Amateur Operatic Society’s 1928 production, “The Belle of Xew York,” Is now definitely booked to open at His Majesty’s Theatre for a short season on Thursday, September 20. “The Belle” is a musical comedy of high standard, a revival of which, either by professionals or amateurs, has been, looked forward to for several years, and numerous requests have been received by the society to undertake its production. Its happy choice is therefore sure to meet with instant approval. Of the activities of the society little need be said. It has been firmly established in the hearts of theatregoers as a band of players who refuse to present anything but the best, and can be depended upon to uphold the enviable reputation built up through a long series of successes.
