EMPRESS
“THE LAST WALTZ” The Empress Theatre, which is always known as the theatre oi big attractions, will present for the n< w programme this evening a splendid entertainment consisting of two star features. The first of these will be the dramatic masterpiece, “The Last Waltz,” from the famous light opera by Oscar Strauss. The story, which is interpreted by a cast of famous Continental actors, tells of a royal court where the prince has as a rival for the lady of his heart, his aide. He condemns the man to death, but allows him one hour of freedom, and in that hour the aide dances his last waltz, nobly refraining from telling his partner of his sentence. The second attraction this evening will be “West of Broadway,” starring Priscilla Dean. EMPIRE SHOWS “SIMPLE SIS” A merry comedy of the love of a laundry girl for a truck driver, entitled “Simple Sis,” will be shown at the Empire Theatre this evening, with Louise Fazenda and Clyde Cook in the leading roles. “Love Hungry,” a dramatic story, starring Lois Aloran, is the second fcat ure.
Alma Rubens will play a prominent part in “The Mask of the Devil/ 5 John Gilbert’s next shirring picture. Theodore Roberts will also return to tb« screen in this new production.
