CONFERENCES IN BRITAIN ELECTION CAMPAIGNS British Official Wireless. RUGBY, Thursday. Exceptional interest attaches to the conferences of the political parties in Britain to be held in the autumn, as they will be the last annual meetings of the kind before the general election. The executive of the Conservative Party met yesterday to consider the arrangements for its conference at which upward of 1,500 delegates will be present, representing organisations in every Parliamentary constituency in England and Wales. This conference will be held at -Great Yarmouth from September 26. A mass meeting will be addressed by the Prime Minister, Mr. Baldwin, on the following day. Other members of the Cabinet and prominent members of Parliament will engage iu a platform campaign comprising a series of meetings throughout the eastern counties. The other parties are also actively preparing for next year’s election campaign which has an added importance owing to the addition of nearly 5,250,000 voters to the electorate as a result of the recent extension of the franchise to women of 21. Great Yarmouth will also be the scene of the Liberal Party’s conference on October 11 and 12. The agenda comprises about 20 motions covering the whole field of national policy. These will be submitted by the executive to afford authoritative guidance to candidates and others and to form the basis of a general manifesto to be subsequently issued to the nation.
