CAUTION NOT ENOUGH
MILK BELOW STANDARD SHOPKEEPERS FINED “Smith had been cautioned previously,” Senior-Sergeant McCarthy said in the Police Court this morning when a shopman, Joseph Smith, was charged with keeping milk below tsandard. Tie was fined £1 30s with costs by Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M. In charges brought by the inspector of factories, G. TI. Pearce was fined £2 and costs for failing to keep a wages and a time book, and A. Craig was fined £ 1 for failing to close a shop at the prescribed hour. Craig was fined 10s for failing to notify the inspector that smoking requisites were sold. For having an unverified scale, J. Espie was fined £ 1 and costs. Unfair packing of fruit cost Ah Way £2 and costs.
