A GREAT TROTTER
SINCE the advent of that splendid trotter Waikaha, the Auckland province has not produced anything outstanding in the way of young square-gaiters, but the spell promises to be broken this season when F. J. Dockerty’s Gis-borne-bred filly Etta Cole steps out. The daughter of Peterwah — Lady Cole, who is now under the care of the racing mentor Freddie Gilchrist, is giving track watchers something to talk and think about at Epsom, and the manner in which she accomplished a work-out yesterday afternoon, caused a lot to curtail their amusement expenses in order to have spare cash for investment purposes when Etta gets her silks on.
