RANGITIKEI CLUBS PROFIT
FARMING PAYS ITS WAY (Special to THE SUN* MARTON, Thursday. That the Rangitikei Racing Club is one of the few <fjuntry clubs which showed a profit on last season’s working was disclosed at the annual, meeting this evening, when the balance sheet was presented. After allowing £278 for depreciation, a nett profit of £266 is shown, which must be regarded as highly satisfactory. Farming appears to be the profitable sideline of the club, the farm in connection with the course bringing in £214. The value of stock at present held is £235. Mention was made in the annual report and further feeling reference was made at the meeting of the loss sustained by the deaths of several old members. During the year the patron, Air. J. S. Bailey, passed away, and Messrs. T. F. Richardson, a member for 28 years, and D. Campion, who joined the club in 1577, also completed “the race of life.”
