DAFFODIL DAY

STALLS laden with spring flowers touched Queen Street with colour to-day, and the pleasant attendants in charge of the stalls “touched” the public for silver. It was Daffodil Day, organised by the Victoria League to raise money for the Plunket Society, Boy Scouts, Free Kindergartens. Young Citizens’ League, and the Empire work of the Victoria League. Business was good throughout the day, and most people in the city carried a small emblem of flowers or the silver badge given to financial supporters of the league’s appeal.
