“I’M BEING ROBBED”
ASSAULT AND THEFT CHARGE MAN LOSES MONEY AND WATCH Press Association. HASTINGS, Thursday. ‘‘Help! Police! I’m being robbed,” were the cries that reached Police Sergeant Doggett last evening. On investigation the Sergeant found a middle-aged man in Russell Street, who declared that he had been robbed and assaulted. He loudly accused one man of the offence and added that another one was concerned. The accused man was then taken to the police station. This morning Thomas Martin Power appeared before a justice on a charge of having robbed John Scott of £lO and a metal watch of a total value of £ll, and that at the time of the offence he used personal violence. A remand was granted for a week. Bail was refused.
