HORTICULTURE DIPLOMAS
At a meeting of the New Zealand Institute of Horticulture in Christchurch last week a report was received from the education committee regarding the system of examination for diplomas in horticulture. The institute was authorised to conduct examinations by the New Zealand Institute of Horticulture Act, 1927, and to grant diplomas without examination to those not less than 40 years of age and with not less than 20 years of practice in horticulture. A total of 61 diplomas throughout New Zealand have been granted and a further 60 are not yet finalised. The following are those in the Auckland city and province to whom diplomas have been granted:—T. Aldridge, J. Allen, F. Best (Hamilton), S. P. Burghall, J. Bush, H. A. Goudie (Rotorua), G. A. Green, 11. A. Hay, E. Hopking (Opaheke), C. McCarthy, G. J. Mackay, G. W. Miller (Whangarei), R. McK. Morison, J. Owen, T. E. Pearson, A. C. Pye (Whangarei). W. H. Rice, J. Rock and H. R. vvright.
