BURGLARS IN COUNTRY
MONEY AND TOBACCO TAKEN RESIDENTS ASK FOR PATROL (From. Our Own Correspondent) OTOEOHANGA, Tuesday. A tobacconist’s shop owned by Mr. M. Howley was broken into last night and £4 was taken from the: till and a number of tins of tobaeco stolen. The heavy plate-glass in the front door had been smashed round the lock and the burglar had put his hand through to open the door. The force of the blow must have been considerable, as splinters of glass flew the full length of the shop. Following on a recent burglary in Messrs. Emmett and Company's garage, where about £3 was taken, and a number of small thefts from houses, residents are asking that a night patrol be instituted.
