MOTORISTS CHARGED
BREACHES OF REGULATIONS POLICE AND CITY CASES Motorists who had offended against the traffic regulations were charged at the Police and Magistrate’s Courts this mornipg. Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., presided over the former Court and Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., over the latter. CITY CAS^S For dangerous driving, Fred Carbutt was fined £4 and costs; Gerald B. White, S. L. Wallath and Norman L. Bredziack were fined £3 and costs; Roy A. Randlin was fined £2 and costs; Ernest L. Beaver was fined .£1 and costs. Jack Paul, who turned to the right at an int/rsection where this was forbidden, was fined £1 and costs; L. P. Easson was fined £ 1 and costs for failing to produce his licence. Roderick Mackay was ordered to pay costs for failing to obey a traffic inspector. Speeding on the New North Road cost George H. Hunt and Donald B. McLaren £2 and costs each: Eric Howard, Trevor D. Lawson and Edward E. Poulter were fined £ 1 and costs, and Albert H. Burns was convicted and discharged on similar charges. POLICE PROSECUTION For speeding, N. W. Bonnam was fined £2 10s and costs; John Paine was fined £2 and costs; P. Seabrook, L. Phillips, H. L. Massey, C. E. Gatlapd and George Findley were fined £ 1 10s and costs; H. V. Hampton, K. G. V. Rowe, D. Shipherd and A. V. Ford were fined £1 and costs. Faulty lighting equipment resulted in fines of 10s and costs being imposed on Leo Healey, Herbert Borland, William Borland, Lionel M. Dixon, Olive C. Foster, Sydney Franklin, Arnold Gilpin, John Gilbert, Reginald Jeffrey. John Krevich, Ernest de Tourrett, John J. Mathews, Daniel Munro, James W\ Ollerenshaw, Mark Pavlovich, Walter Taylor, Catherine B. Rapsom, Edward J. Wyatt and Eirene A. Wiggins. Fines of 5s and costs were imposed on Ethel L. Pinker, Alfred Hadcalf, Adam Morrow, Alfred C. Clark, George A. Carron, Alexander Burt. Ethel D. H. Davis, Torrance Cleary and A. C. Brown. Edward C. Mansfield and Hubert C. Pond were ordered to pay costs only. T. Atkinson, who failed to give the required signal before turning, was fined £1 10s and costs; On Hing, who caused an accident in Remueta Road through failing to give to a vehicle on his right, was fined £1 and costs; John E. Lester was fined £1 and costs for putting the wrong number plates on his car; Frank H. Hodge, who parked* his car in High Street, was fined 10s and costs; failing to notify change of ownership after selling her car cost Essie Stokes £1 and costs.
