Moneylenders Seek to Serve Writ on Wandering Rector
Will Harvest In Canada

Reed. 9.5 a.m. CALGARY, Sunday. That there is nothing secret about his visit to Canada. That his secretary and his man knew -where he -was. That the Bishop knew he was holidaying. These statements were made at Brooks, Alberta, by the Rev. Franklin Hutchinson, who was reported to have mysteriously disappeared from England. He had no hesitation in explaining his mission and movements when it was brought to his attention that he was reported to have left the parish of Doddinghurst secretly. He told Major Fred Cross, assistant superintendent of the C.P.R. demonstration farm, that he had come to Canada to study conditions first-hand. He was making observations, particularly in regard to the opportunities for young men on Canadian farms.
He intimated that he intended to work on the land and the harvest fields, to gain experience regarding the actual situation. He proposed to. remain in the Brooks district probably a month. Later he hopes to study the methods employed in various colleges, as one interested i*i educational matters. To Y.M.C.A. officials at Winnipeg he stated an intention permanently to reside in Canada, and hinted that he would take an Anglican rectory if one were available. A London message says moneylenders in Manchester tried to serve Mr. Hutchinson with a writ for £SOO, allegedly obtained as an unsecured loan. Mr. Hutchinson’s departure from England without leaving an address constitutes an act of bankruptcy on which a petition could be filed-
