Annual Military Ball at Hamilton BRILLIANT AFFAIR When the annual military ball was held in Hamilton on Friday evening, the Town Hall was bra\c with streamers and flags, and festoons of red, white and blue bunting. Palms and flowers made the stage into an attractive lounge, arranged with sofas and inviting chairs. During the evening two attractive debutantes were presented. Shaded Iceland poppies and masses of other spring flowers from cream to deepest orange, lycopodium and huge palms transformed the supper room. The Municipal Band and the Regent Orchestra supplied excellent music. Major Glendining, and Mrs. Glendining were host and hostess. Mrs. Glendining wore a smart frock of black taffeta over shell pink georgette. The Women’s Committee included:

Bays water, on Friday and Saturday. On Saturday afternoon a baby show was held, the prizewinners being Betty Ball, D. Wildon, Alison White, I. Crawford and M. Bramley. The stall-holders were: Produce, Mrs. Byde, Mrs. Lidgard and Mrs. Smith; apron stall. Mrs. Cook and Mrs. Waddell; sweets. Miss Pickworth, Miss Bgwen, Miss Edwards and Miss "Waddell: work stall, Mrs. Beacon, Mi* l Peters and Mrs, Edwards; cakes. Mrs. Isbister and Mrs. J. R- Williamson. The men's committee was ** charge of the amusements, and Mr. L. S. Davis arranged the evenings programme. PUPILS’ DANCE The Misses Beresford held a very enjoyable evening in connection their dancing classes in the Cate* tea rooms.
