The Governor-General Sir Charles Vergusson, arrived from Wellington this morning to spend the week-end in Auckland. He will open the Salvation Army Congress Hall in Grey’s Avenue this afternoon, and will attend a Masonic function this evening. The Rev. G. Gordon Bell left by train last evening for Wellington. i^ r A. Harris, M.P., arrived from Wellington by the Limited this morning. Mr. A. M. Samuel, M.P., was a passenger from Wellington by the Limited this morning. Mr. E. Casey, Divisional Superintendent, North Island Railways, returned this morning from a visit to Wellington. Mr. W. J- Gow, Chief Postmaster, lias returned to Auckland after an official visit to the Coromandel district. The Mayor, Mr. G. Baildon, and Mr. J. A. C. Allum, chairman of the Water Committee, returned from Wellington by the Limited this morning. Mr. Justice Blair will leave for Hamilton during the week-end. He will preside at the Supreme Court sessions, which open here on Tuesday. Mr. J. B. Stanton, city solicitor, and Mr. H. M. Rogerson, solicitor to the Mount Eden Borough Council, returned from Wellington this morning by the Limited. M.r. H. H. Sterling, General Manager of the New Zealand Railways, arrived from Wellington by the Limited this morning. He was accompanied by Mrs. Sterling. Mr. W. P. N. Henderson audit inspector, who has been stationed at Hamilton for the last six years, has been transferred to Wellington, and he and Mrs. Henderson will leave by the' Limited to-morrow night. Mr. E.
