The Thistle Social Club will hold the usual old-time dance this evening, and every Saturday evening, at the Masonic Hall, Newton. The annual Daffodil Day held by the Victoria League will be observed ori Friday next. Half the proceeds will be given to various societies, as advertised, and half to the League’s Empire Week. Belle Bennett, Don Alvarado, Sally O’Neil, William Bakewell and John Batten are the other players in "The Battle of the Sexes.” which is scheduled for release in New Zealand by United Artists shortly.
