“THE PATSY”
MARION DAVIES’S LATEST Tlie same effervescing spirit of youth for which Marion Davies is famed off the screen makes her new film, “The Patsy/’ one long uproarious laugh from beginning to end. Miss Davies is said to have selected the story, but Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer surely could not have taken long to realise how amusing Miss Davies could be as the heroine who trains herself from a book to improve her personality. The story is that of a younger sister, who is not content to sit by and see all the good things of lice heaped on her older sister, so she starts out to achieve fame for herself. Jane Winton in the part of the elder sister is an excellent foil, while Marie Dressier is the funniest mother one could imagine. Del Henderson as the husband is equally amusing and his pathetic revolt against the ferninitv of his family will strike straight to the heartstrings of many a family man.
