Obituary

MR. A. NOBLE The death of Mr. A. Noble occurred at Morrinsville yesterday, at the age of 76. He was well known in Devonport, where he was for 29 years a partner in the firm of Johnson and Noble. He died at the residence of his son. The late Mr. Noble came to New Zealand from Linaskea. County Fermanagh, Ireland, in 1877, in the ship Lady Jocelyn, and soon after took up his residence at Devonport. When he left to take up farming at Morrinsville he took a keen interest in local body affairs, and besides serving for many years on the Morrinsville School Committee, he was a member of the Manga wara River Board, and chairman of the Tauhei Drainage Board. He is survived by his widow, three daughters, Miss Noble, Hamilton: Misses N. and K. Noble, Tauhei: and three sons. Messrs. W. J. Noble, of Tirohia, and Messrs. Bert and John Noble, of Tauhei.
