VERDICT OF COMMITTEES MANY SEEK ALLOWANCES (THE SUN’S Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, Friday. The verdicts of the responsible committees were delivered this afternoon on a number of petitions, among which were the following of Auckland interest: — D. J. Young. Auckland, praying for compensation for loss of property owing to alleged negligence of police. No recommendation. Irene M. Wood. Auckland, praying for soldiers’ widows’ pension. No recommendation. Donald Sinclair, Onehunga, praying for reconsideration of application for war pension. No recommendation. A. J. Thom, Avondale, compensation owing to wounds suffered on active service. No recommendation. Sarah Ann McDonald, Thames, praying for allowance equal to miners’ I widows’ pension. No recommendation.
